Roads are usually full of dangers, such as drivers changing lanes unexpectedly, vehicles suddenly emerging from side streets, jaywalkers and more.
This can be a serious problem for even the most experienced drivers as they don’t have the ability to predict dangers ahead. That’s why the new ID.3 comes with an Autonomous Emergency Braking System that automatically stops your car at the right moment. Without it, the driver would be relying on luck. But what if it’s not their lucky day?
To convey this message efficiently, I used the “never give up” cliché illustration with adding a new twist and looking at it from another perspective.
I created two scenarios featuring the iconic treasure-seeking characters, dwarves and pirates, and placed unseen dangers in their way.
Inspired by VW’s edgy advertising ideas, I set out to make something consistent with their strategy. I aimed to achieve exceptional quality in all aspects, including detailed character design and the creation of bespoke props. I aspired to bring the quality of animated films to advertising, an approach previously unseen in the industry.
